Toomer's Corner

A lot of discussion has been going on regarding Toomer's Corner and the work that is being done on the oak tree and keeping it healthy.

While WRAS loves the tradition of rolling Toomer's Corner, something needs to be done. We'd rather have that tree standing in 20 years when our kids go to Auburn than for them to see an empty corner and only being able to hear about or just see pictures of the tree. That is more important than rolling the tree after every victory, swim meet or graduation.

Yes, we should continue to roll Toomer's Corner. We've got a lot of smart people working on coming up with a solution that will keep both the tree and the tradition alive and well, and I'm sure they'll find a way.

If they can find a way to keep it alive and well and it's safe to roll it, I'm for it. But until they do I think we should at least show some restraint in when we roll it.

i think we should roll it until it dies, replace it with one of it's own seedlings, and put a giant tower right next to the seedling beaming blue and orange light into the sky until toomer's corner tree #2 grows to approximately 3/4 the size of its daddy/momma. then we can move the blue and orange light tower to the front gate of tuberville field in t-town.

Roll it whenever the spirit takes the players... Find better ways to remove the paper without blasting it with water...

It's radical, I know, but... Just leave the paper up there. TP is biodegradable. Stop super-soaking that hoe! We aren't Bulldogs!'

I can hope that the best damned agricultural school in the nation can solve this problem. Otherwise, we're looking at rolling various ornamental trees, like tulips or plums, in the near future.

how about continuing to roll the tree, but to a lesser extent? For example, just rolling the trees after major victories? I went to the LSU game a couple years back and the trees were coated with TP, understandably. And last year, I attended the Vandy and Homecoming games. Toomer's corner was rolled extensively. That's a tad overkill.
